LUKE HUMPHRIES admits he would love to be the first darts superstar to break the £2MILLION ranking mark.
The World Champion has racked up an incredible jackpot with five major titles in a year.
Now ‘Cool Hand’, 29, is on the brink of becoming the first ever player to go through the two million ceiling in ranking money on the Order of Merit.
He’s currently sitting on £1,749,750 but knows he’d have to defend his world title in January to create even more history
He said: “If I make that two million mark on the rankings, then it just shows I dominated two years to be honest.
“That would be exceptional. But I feel I’d have to win two majors or reach a World final to do that.”
Humphries is still the main man in a sensational run over the past 12 months which has seen him win the Grand Prix, Grand Slam, Players Championship, Worlds, World Cup and World Matchplay.
Now he’s bidding for his first European Championship this weekend.
He added: “You expect me to hit the 107, 108 averages all the time.
“Unfortunately they don’t come all the time, you can’t be perfect. I wish I could.

“I used to watch Phil (Taylor) and Michael (Van Gerwen) in their heyday and think that didn’t look nothing special and then you’d see it and think that was pretty decent.
“I’d rather win with a 91 than lose with a 110.”
