Man arrested in rural NSW town after woman’s body found at caravan park

A caravan park in a rural NSW town has become a crime scene after a woman’s body was found and a man was arrested.

A 29-year-old man was arrested this morning after the woman’s body was found at a G’Day Parks Caravan Park on Henry Street in Gunnedah, in the state’s central north, at 8.20am today.

Police found the woman dead after they were called to the property after a concern for welfare report.

She’s believed to be aged in her 50s. 

The woman has not yet been formally identified, but police believe the man and woman are known to each other.

The man has been taken to Gunnedah Police Station, where he is assisting police.

Gunnedah has a population of just 8338 people and is about 75km from Tamworth.

No charges have been laid yet.
