Man extradited to Sydney from Perth over domestic violence charges

A man has been extradited from Perth to Sydney over an outstanding warrant for domestic violence charges.
Police first received reports of a man allegedly assaulting a woman known to him in December 2023, before he travelled to Western Australia.

Following investigations, a 39-year-old man was arrested in Perth on September 26 with help from the Western Australian Police Force.

He appeared in the Magistrates Court of Western Australia the next day, where an application for extradition was granted.

The 39-year-old man was charged with taking a person causing bodily harm (DV) and choking a person with recklessness (DV).

He was refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Local Court on Sunday, where he was refused bail.

He will reappear in the same court on November 7.
