Manhunt for driver involved in ‘deliberate’ hit-and-run crash in Katherine

A 31-year-old man was severely injured in what Northern Territory Police say was a “deliberate” hit-and-run in Katherine.

The man was hit when attempting to cross the Stuart Hwy at the intersection of Giles St while pushing a shopping trolley at 2.30am on Saturday.

“As the vehicle neared, the driver deliberately drove towards the pedestrian, striking him,” police said.

The 31-year-old man was transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital with serious injuries.

Northern Territory Police are searching for the driver.

They described the car involved as a white Holden Colorado with NT registration CE85VO.
