A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of assassinating top Russian general Igor Kirillov, who died alongside his assistant when a bomb planted on a scooter exploded outside his house in Moscow on Tuesday.

The FSB, Russia’s main security agency, said it had arrested an Uzbek man who had placed the bomb on the scooter and placed a camera in a rented car to film the bombing, then detonated it remotely.

It said the man had been offered $100,000 and safe passage to an EU country to carry out the attack.
