More than 48 hours after she was first reported missing, the search for Suzanne Clark Simpson continues. Police are still working on piecing together where she might be as more than 100 tips have come in.
On Thursday, the Texas Department of Public Safety released a photo capture from a surveillance video at The Argyle showing Simpson in a black dress on Sunday.
“We want everybody to see and check that photo and see if they’ve seen this lady or not. We still have not heard from her and we still don’t know where she is,” said Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas.
“There have been cases when somebody is found alive, injured, in severe distress, hidden away, we’re not going to give up on that,” he said.
Her husband, Brad Simpson was transported to the Bexar County Jail Thursday, Villegas said, his bond set at $1 million per charge because “he may be a danger to her,” he said. He is “still uncooperative.”
“There is that opportunity we would upgrade charges, but we’re not there yet. We don’t have that kind of evidence,” he said. “At this time, we’re looking at Brad because of the fact of the family violence.”
Outside the Simpsons’ Olmos Park home, there’s less police activity as officials say they are focusing on filing search warrants for other properties.
Villegas said they still have not located her cellphone, but are getting warrants to search other electronic devices.
Villegas said over 100 people have reached out with information they believe may be important. Some tips may have already helped, he said, but it’ll take time to sort through credible tips.
It’s common that sometimes in family violence situations when the victim … will be very frightened obviously, naturally, so we’re holding out hope that maybe she’s trying to be away from the home to get away from that situation, Villegas said.
