NFL best bets Week 12: Picking Jim against the spread in the Harbaugh Bowl and 3 more plays

Welp. It had been a solid run betting on the NFL, and that run has abruptly come to an end. But we get to attempt a bounce-back this week, and we even have action in the Harbaugh Bowl on Monday Night Football.

The Cleveland Browns are officially on the “No Bet List” with their pitiful performance against the New Orleans Saints. Patrick Mahomes lost as an underdog and couldn’t cover the teasers after surrendering a late touchdown. And the Jets made everyone believers in Anthony Richardson again. It was all bad. There isn’t any reason to dwell on the past though. Let’s take a look at next week.

Last week’s record: 0-4, -4.40 units
Season record: 24-26-2, -3.50 units, -6.3% ROI

Four plays this week … maybe I should add another to make sure we don’t have a repeat of last week’s reverse sweep. As always, shop around for the best price and good luck to us!

Best bets for NFL Week 12

Minnesota Vikings -3 (-115) at Chicago Bears

Caleb Williams and this Bears offense looked a lot better last week after making a change at offensive coordinator. Unfortunately for them, the Vikings defense is much better than the Packers and Brian Flores against a rookie quarterback is quite the bad matchup. I do have concerns about this Vikings offense since the loss of left tackle Christian Darrisaw, but they should have enough to complement their dominant defense.

  • Worst price to bet: Vikings -3 (-115)

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins over 45.5 (-110)

Drake Maye has been awesome over these last few weeks despite the Patriots lack of talent on the offensive side of the ball. Combine that with the return of Tua Tagovailoa for this Dolphins offense and I think you could see a lot of points here. I do worry that the Dolphins have found some pass rush with rookie edge rusher Chop Robinson but I think Maye has shown that he can navigate the pocket well enough to consistently move the ball.

  • Worst price to bet: Over 46.5 (-110)

Los Angeles Rams +3 (-110) vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles defense has been awesome over the last month or so and while the competition hasn’t been great, I am a believer. With that being said, I think I’m about as high as I can possibly be on the Eagles at this point, and while I do think they’ll be able to move the ball on this Rams defense, I can’t justify the price. Matthew Stafford with a healthy Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua is an explosive offense that will put this Eagles defense under a lot of pressure.

  • Worst price to bet: Rams +3 (-115)

Los Angeles Chargers +3 (-110) vs. Baltimore Ravens

Who doesn’t love a bet in a game involving two brothers coaching against each other? The Ravens pass defense is the issue for me here. Despite giving up only 18 points against a meh Steelers offense last week, the Ravens allowed Russell Wilson to move the ball with relative ease. Justin Herbert shouldn’t have an issue moving the ball either. Now, I do have some worries about some injuries on the Chargers defense. I think Khalil Mack should be good to go, but the status of Cam Hart and Denzel Perryman will be key to watch here after they got banged up on Sunday Night Football.
