Early Friday morning, the Miami Dolphins and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. decided to mutually part ways.

If Beckham clears waivers, he will be an unrestricted free agent and will be eligible to sign with any team as early as Monday. At 6-7, it’s a lost season for the Dolphins. Beckham only caught nine passes for 55 yards during his time in South Beach since being activated in October.

Beckham could sign with his sixth different team. Or he could return to one of his previous teams and help them compete for a Super Bowl. At 32 years old, he’s far from the player he once was, but if there’s any juice left, a contending team could try to squeeze it for their playoff run.

Let’s take a look at some potential fits for OBJ.

Los Angeles Rams

The last super meaningful reception in Beckham’s career came in the Super Bowl against the Cincinnati Bengals. That was in 2021. And he tore his ACL that same night.

After defeating the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football, the Rams are 8-6 and in a prime position to steal the NFC West crown.

The Rams spent much of this season without Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. Since their return, Nacua has remained one of the best receivers in the league while Kupp’s better days seem behind him.

There’s no denying that Beckham’s better days are also behind him, but a reunion with Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford in Los Angeles, a place where Beckham is comfortable, makes a lot of sense.

Houston Texans

The Texans were the darlings of this NFL offseason when they pulled off a trade for Stefon Diggs with the Buffalo Bills. Who would have thought that the Bills would be this much better than the Texans?

Diggs tore his ACL a few weeks ago, but at 8-5, the Texans are still the best option to come out of the AFC South.

Tank Dell, Nico Collins and John Metchie III are probably enough weapons for C.J. Stroud, but the Texans could opt to roll the dice on Beckham.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Beckham has already played for the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North. Why not add the Steelers to that resume?

Pittsburgh is currently in first place of what was thought to be the best division in football coming into the season. While the Browns and Cincinnati Bengals have massively disappointed, Mike Tomlin’s Steelers kicked the door down and look primed to win the division.

The Steelers have been in the receiver market ever since the Brandon Aiyuk sweepstakes this offseason. Beckham’s eccentric personality might not fit the culture in Pittsburgh, but they’ve found a way to make it work with Antonio Brown, JuJu Smith-Scheuster, George Pickens and the list goes on.
