“Our patients don’t need doctors. Our patients need detectives.” What about – someone who is both?! CBS has unveiled an official trailer for a series called Watson, a primetime TV series on CBS and also streaming Paramount+ in January 2025. It’s yet another new Sherlock Holmes inspired / connected series, this time introducing the actor Morris Chestnut starring as Dr. John Watson. Watson is another medical mystery series starring Chestnut and it will premiere after the AFC Championship Game on Sunday in January. One year after Holmes’s apparent death at the hands of his archenemy Moriarty, Dr. Watson sets up shop at a clinic for the treatment of rare and unusual diseases, in Pittsburgh. Soon however, he must face his past when Moriarty emerges to do battle once more. The cast stars Chestnut as Watson, a physician and former consulting detective who heads the Holmes Clinic in Pittsburgh, PA; Eve Harlow as Ingrid Derian, an aloof but highly skilled neurologist with an enigmatic past; Peter Mark Kendall as Stephens Croft and Adam Croft, identical twin brothers; Inga Schlingmann; Ritchie Coster; Rochelle Aytes. So this is basically “House” all over again but also mashed up with Sherlock Holmes? Sure why not, looks entertaining enough.

Takes place six months after the death of the titular character’s friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty. The show stars Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, who resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. Watson’s old life isn’t done with him, though – Moriarty and Watson are set to write their own chapter of a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century. Watson is a medical show with a strong investigative spine, with a modern version of one of history’s greatest detectives as he turns his attention from solving crimes to solving medical mysteries. Watson is a series created by Craig Sweeny, writer on “The 4400”, “Medium”, “Elementary”, “Limitless”, “The Code” series previously. It’s also written by Sweeney – inspired by works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. With episodes directed by Clara Aranovich and Larry Teng. Made by CBS Studios.
