Flow Trailer

Meet a black cat and his friends. 🐈‍⬛ Sideshow + Janus have revealed the official US trailer for the animated film called Flow made by Latvian filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis. This is his second feature after his other animated film Away (2019) and it originally premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. It also won the Audience Award, Jury Prize, and Best Original Score at the Annecy Film Festival this year, which proves how acclaimed it is already. Flow is a stunning, totally dialogue free, mesmerizing movie about a group of animals trying to survive a world that is flooding. Cat is a solitary animal, but when its home is devastated by a great flood, he finds refuge on a boat populated by a few other species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences. I was quoted in the other Latvian trailer but didn’t make the cut this time – I wrote a nice review at Cannes about this one. I’m glad they’re giving it a theatrical release in the US.

Here’s the official US trailer (+ new poster) for Gints Zilbalodis’ film Flow, direct from his YouTube:

Cat is a solitary animal, but as its home is devastated by a great flood, he finds refuge on a boat populated by various species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences. In the lonesome boat sailing through mystical overflowed landscapes, they must navigate the challenges and dangers of adapting to this new world.Flow, also known as Straume in Latvian, is written and directed by talented Latvian animation filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis, also director of the film Away previously, plus many other creative short films. The screenplay is also co-written by Matiss Kaza. Produced by Ron Dyens, Matiss Kaza, Gregory Zalcman, Gints Zilbalodis. This initially premiered at both the 2024 Cannes & Annecy Film Festivals earlier this year (read our review). Janus Films + Sideshow will debut Gints Zilbalodis’ Flow film in select US theaters starting on November 22nd, 2024 later in the fall. Look good?
