One Piece has begun airing its remastered Fish-Man Island arc, but fans’ expectations have been blown out of the water with a completely new anime intro and outro that proves how much the series visuals have improved. Some fans were disappointed to read about One Piece‘s hiatus announcement as it takes a break from adapting the stunning Egghead Island arc. However, after the first remastered episode aired, it’s clear Toei Animation is not putting those fans out to dry.
The anime plans on returning to Egghead Island material in April 2025, which should give the production team time to prepare for the exciting events to come. This past weekend saw the first episode of the material attempting to fill the space in One Piece fans’ hearts that the weekly anime has occupied since it began airing in 1999. The remastered and re-edited Fish-Man Island arc features improved visuals and an entirely new intro and outro posted on One Piece‘s official YouTube channel, which should entice fans who were resistant to revisiting one of One Piece‘s most contentious arcs.

With the news that the Fish-Man Island arc would be rereleased with better visuals and pacing, many assumed the anime would also be remastering the original intro that initially played during the beginning of the first arc of One Piece‘s time skip. This is why fans who tuned into the first remastered episode were pleasantly surprised to see an entirely new intro filled with fantastic animation paired with the same song, “We Go,” but instead sung by each Straw Hat crew member.
