A person has been seriously injured in a horrific helicopter crash in southwest NSW.
A distress signal was received from an emergency locator transmitter from a US-registered Super Puma helicopter travelling from Broken Hill to Albury at about 10am, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said.
Two people were on board at the time.

“NSW Rural Fire Service crews are on the scene, NSW police are also attending with the AMSA Challenger rescue aircraft returning to Essendon,” AMSA told 7NEWS.com.au.
“The HEMS air ambulance helicopter is conveying a seriously injured person to Hay, for onwards retrieval to hospital care in Melbourne.”
NSW Police declined to comment on the current condition of the passenger at this stage.
The crash site is believed to some 15km west of One Tree, near Hay.
