Online bottle shop Jimmy Brings and delivery service MILKRUN announce merger

Online bottle shop Jimmy Brings is officially set to merge with delivery service MILKRUN.

MILKRUN is part of the Woolworths Group, which includes the Endeavour Group, while Jimmy Brings falls directly within the Endeavour Group.

The business merger will increase the range of alcohol products on MILKRUN to more than 2000, alongside the more than 10,000 grocery items also available.

The delivery fee will also drop from $8.95 to only $5 as part of the merger.

Jimmy Brings will remain independently operational until November 28, when it will be fully incorporated into MILKRUN.

“Some stores will have updated operating hours,” MILKRUN said in its announcement of the merger. “When you are shopping you will be able to see your store’s trading hours.”

It is unclear if or how the delivery areas previously serviced by Johnny Brings will be affected by the merger.

MILKRUN is currently available in more than 500 suburbs across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Canberra, Newcastle, Perth, Launceston and Hobart.

Customers are required to provide identification upon delivery in order to receive alcoholic beverages.

“MILKRUN takes Responsible Service of Alcohol very seriously,” the company said.

“Drivers will ask to see your identification to make sure you’re of age.

“Our drivers are unable to deliver to anyone who is intoxicated, and cannot deliver outside of our operating hours — all these things are for compliance with licensing laws.”

If customers do not want to be shown alcoholic beverages, they can opt to have these items blocked through their settings.

MILKRUN also provides customers with exclusive offers, free delivery on their first three orders, and Everyday Rewards points.

To celebrate the merger, MILKRUN is running a competition through its Instagram.

Its followers can win one of 50 $100 MILKRUN vouchers up for grabs, with entries open until November 24.
