MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday wrapped up the registration period for the digital election campaigns for the 2025 polls with over 13,000 online registrations.
In a Viber message to the media, Comelec spokesperson Atty. John Rex Laudiangco said that a total of 13,723 poll aspirants registered their social media accounts as part of the social media regulation for the digital election campaigns.

Of this figure, 70 registrations came from senatorial aspirants, while 13,416 were from local aspirants.
Meanwhile, a total of 237 party-list groups, organizations, and coalitions registered.

Over 43,000 aspirants for the local and national posts, and the party-list groups filed their certificates of candidacy and certificates of nomination and acceptance for the 2025 polls.

Further, Laudiangco said that the registrations are “subject to final online and hard copy evaluation and verification.”
Laudiangco also noted that the aspirants who registered online will be given five days to submit their hard copies of submissions.

Meanwhile, Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia previously warned that the posts of poll aspirants, party-list groups and organizations not registered will be taken down by the poll body’s request.
“Likewise, they can be held liable for an election offense and face possible disqualification cases,” Garcia previously told INQUIRER.net.
