Andrew Johns has offered a potential solution to the Eels, who are expected to announce their new head coach in the coming days.
After a tough first-half of the season, Parramatta are now seemingly heading towards a rebuild and there could be some changes to their roster in 2025.
Speaking on Wide World of Sports’ Immortal Behaviour, Johns said the club will bounce back long-term but the major concern may come in the middle of the field.
“I think the Eels are gonna be fine … but the only worry for Parramatta is an ageing pack,” he said.
“You’ve got Junior [Paulo] and Reagan Campbell-Gillard who are in their early-30s. Shaun Lane is late-20s, Ryan Matterson is getting on.
“Whether they’ve got to move someone there, but I don’t know what’s coming through in the forwards there, but they have an ageing pack.
“They won’t be down for long though.”
Campbell-Gillard will become a free agent in November, while the likes of Matterson and Lane have options for the 2026 season and could opt to test the market.
