Power outages are cropping up in Rhode Island as a powerful storm is moving through the state.
Rhode Island is forecasted to recieve 2 to 3 inches of rain, with up to 4 inches in some areas, as a bomb cyclone moves through the Northeast, according to the National Weather Service. The state is currently under a high wind advisory, with south winds blowing 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
The combination has canceled the Block Island Ferry service today due to “adverse sea conditions,” restricted who can drive over the Newport Pell and Jamestown bridges, and is causing power outages.
Rhode Island energy has said they are “closely monitoring” the storm on X.
