Timana Island, also known as Thorpe Island, sits off Mission Beach between Cairns and Townsville.
The island boasts 15 hectares of rainforest, a private beach, and an uninhabitable beach shack.
It’s one of the few private freehold islands in Australia.
Steve Wiltshire from Mission Beach Real Estate said the island was “pristine”.
“It’s sort of beyond words, but you’re sitting there listening to the waves, lapping up the orchestra of birds and the smells of the blossoming rainforest,” he told Today.
Wiltshire said fruit trees were growing wild on the island and could be “gardened up”.
“And then it rises steeply up to a hillock, and it’s covered in dense rainforest,” he said.
“There’s an old shack there that is in need of a lot of attention – but strong bones, as we say in the industry.”
