After the Ravens outlasted the Bengals for a 35-34 win in Week 10, cornerback Marlon Humphrey lamented feeling like the team’s defensive players were “little brothers” because quarterback Lamar Jackson and the offense were carrying them to wins.
Things don’t feel quite the same anymore. The Ravens defense did not allow a point in Wednesday’s 31-2 rout of the Texans and they only allowed 31 points while winning the previous two games by a comfortable margin. The defense had four turnovers and 11 sacks in the three wins and Humphrey said on Wednesday that it feels like things have flipped for the unit from where they were after that Bengals game.
“Man, I’m not going to lie. I’d say we’ve come full circle,” Humphrey said, via the team’s website. “This is a testament to it all kind of coming together.”
It’s the right time of year to be playing your best football, so the Ravens have to be feeling good about their playoff chances with things finally clicking on both sides of the ball at the same time.
