Joe Burrow is officially back.
The Cincinnati Bengals franchise quarterback has fully recovered from his wrist injury and is cleared for contact, head coach Zac Taylor told local media on Monday.
Burrow, 27, had surgery on his right wrist to repair a torn ligament after he injured it in a November 16th loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He was sidelined for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.
The former LSU star has dealt with various injuries since beginning his four-year NFL career, including missing 2023 training camp with a strained calf muscle that, while didn’t sideline him for any games, was an ongoing issue that impacted his mobility.
Burrow was selected first overall by the Bengals at the 2020 NFL Draft. In Sept. 2023, he signed a five-year, $275 million contract to remain in Cincinnati, which made him the highest-salaried player ($55 million annually) in league history.
