Riley Keough shares unknown details about Lisa and Michael Jackson’s marriage

Riley Keough, during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, discussed her mother Lisa Marie Presley’s marriage to Michael Jackson, which lasted from 1994 to 1996.

Keough stated that the level of fame surrounding Jackson did not significantly alter their lives because media attention and paparazzi were already constants in their family’s life. She added, “Our life wasn’t crazier because that was already there. That already existed, like the press and the crazy, the paparazzi” (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Keough described how the marriage introduced luxury into their lives. Her mother noticed elements of Jackson’s lifestyle, such as private planes and assistants. Keough recalled Jackson once closing a toy store in London, allowing her and her late brother, Benjamin, to explore it privately.

When asked about the child abuse allegations against Jackson in the 1990s, Keough stated that no one informed her as a child, and she never inquired as an adult. “I was never told anything. It’s actually not something I ever asked as an adult,” she said. She explained that her parents kept any conflicts or discussions about Jackson’s allegations away from her and her brother.

Keough emphasized the love between Presley and Jackson, stating, “The one thing I know is that they were in love… because I was there and I remember.” She also mentioned in an Oprah special that Jackson was “only kind and loving” to her and her family.

Presley passed away in January 2023 at age 54. She left behind a memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, which Keough completed posthumously.
