BALTIMORE — Kansas City left-hander Cole Ragans exited Tuesday’s Game 1 start in the American League wild-card series against the Orioles after six innings with left calf cramping.

Making his playoff debut, Ragans scattered four hits over six scoreless innings, striking out eight without walking a batter.

Left-hander Sam Long took over in the seventh inning with a 1-0 lead.

Ragans, 26, went 11-9 in the regular season with a 3.14 ERA in 32 starts. He was named an All-Star for the first time.
