A Russian official downplayed Tuesday’s debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, calling it a “show.”
“To be honest, I don’t know why you think that’s big news,” Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova told Sputnik Radio when asked to respond to the televised faceoff between Trump and Harris broadcast on ABC News.
The debate was held less than two months before Americans will cast their ballots in the 2024 presidential election, and marked the first time the two candidates had debated.
“Is that big news that we could see yet another show performed by people who clearly take no responsibility whatsoever for their words?” Zakharova asked.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
