Angel Reese has made history.
The Chicago Sky rookie notched her 13th consecutive double-double on Sunday against the Seattle Storm, breaking WNBA legend Candace Parker’s record for consecutive double-doubles across multiple seasons.
Reese, the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, has picked up double-doubles in every game since June 4.
After she broke the record, fans praised her for making history in what has been an outstanding rookie year so far.
Being in the same conversation as Parker is an impressive feat on its own, but to do it as a rookie is even more impressive, and likely a sign of more to come for the rising star.
Reese is averaging 13.9 points, 11.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game, living up to the hype she generated coming into the league. Reese is leading the league in rebounds and also set a franchise record earlier this week with 19 boards against the Atlanta Dream.
Now, Reese is looking to lead her team to a strong rest of the season. The Sky currently sit in seventh place in the WNBA at 8-11 and are looking to continue improving to hold on to their position in the playoffs.
If Reese can continue grabbing double-doubles, Chicago could be on its way to a big second half of the season.
