Steven Miles, David Crisafulli go head-to-head

Opposition leader David Crisafulli has claimed the Queensland budget is under pressure because ministers haven’t been held accountable for cost blow-outs on road projects.

Premier Steven Miles has taken umbrage at the claims, piping up to say if Crisafulli was “seriously saying that he would deliver projects for what they were estimated to cost two or three or four years ago, then he just could not deliver those projects. He would have to cut them.”

We’ve had a bit of back-and-forth between the leaders, and Crisafulli, relatively calmly, said to the Premier he knows he wants to “put on a show”.

“But I want to talk to Queenslanders about respect for their money,” he said.
