‘Stranger Things’ Wraps Production on Final Season With New Behind-the-Scenes Photos

There’s little doubt that the Netflix hit Stranger Things has been a cultural phenomenon. Since its inception in 2016, the series has expanded to include novels, comics, collectible figures, clothing, and it helped bring about the resurgence of Dungeons & Dragons. Now, more than eight years after its debut episode, it’s time to say goodbye to Stranger Things with the fifth and final season that is set to air in 2025, which has just completed filming.

Netflix took to social media to celebrate the bittersweet farewell, posting on X a collage of behind-the-scenes photos (seen below), with a caption that simply reads, “THAT’S A WRAP ON STRANGER THINGS. See you in 2025.” The core cast is all featured prominently in the touching photographs, wearing big smiles and seemingly having a lot of fun shooting the final eight-episode season. Of course, we know the finale will be anything but jolly, and those smiles will likely be replaced with tears once things get underway next year.

Stranger Things 5 Teaser Reveals Episode Titles for Final Season

Can you spot some major hints from the episode titles?

As of right now, Netflix has yet to set a firm premiere date for Stranger Things Season 5, so all we know at this point is that it will debut at some point in 2025. Whether or not the season is split into Part 1 and Part 2 like Season 4 also remains to be seen, but given the fact that each episode is near feature film length, it wouldn’t surprise us if that’s what happens. Just as long as they don’t take too much time between parts, because honestly, we’ve been waiting for this finale for what seems like forever.

What Do We Know About ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5?

As expected, plot details for Stranger Things Season 5 remain a tightly guarded secret right now, so there’s little to report on that front when it comes to all the juicy details of what will happen to Eleven, Jim, Mike, Will, Dustin, and the rest of the gang. It’s probably for the best, because if you’re anything like us, you’d hate for it to be spoiled.

However, there are a few things we do know that won’t affect your overall enjoyment of the final season, one of which is that it will have a time jump. As to how long? Your guess is as good as ours right now, but one thing we’re also happy to learn is that the story will stay in Hawkins, Indiana rather than jump around to various locations like Season 4 did. No more Russia, no more Los Angeles, just the town we’ve come to know and love since the beginning that – in a way – feels like home for not only the cast, but fans who have supported Stranger Things from the start.

Needless to say, it’s going to be an emotional final season no matter how things play out, because Stranger Things has been so ingrained in the fabric of pop culture these past few years that it’s hard to imagine a world without it. Take our word for it, if you’ve yet to see the first four seasons, make sure to check them out on Netflix before the premiere of Season 5 in 2025.
