Sundowns coach Mngqithi hoping for quicker return from Zwane

Sundowns approach the match against Royal on a good run of six wins successive wins in all competitions since being beaten in both legs of their MTN8 semifinal by Stellenbosch FC at the beginning of last month.

Mngqithi has been pleased, after a patchy start, with his team’s much-improved form that has seen them bang in 21 goals in those six wins, conceding two.

“I prefer to take each game as it comes. I have always been optimistic the team is still going to come right because it is strong and it is probably stronger than last season,” he said.

“I have always believed we are on the right track and the approach that one has chosen for the team is the right one. We have a bigger responsibility in the Champions League where we are also expected to try to create a bit more so we maximise our chances of scoring goals.

“It is pleasing to see our attackers scoring the way they are and hopefully we will build from this.”
