Morrell, the WBA super-middleweight champion, is moving up a division for this one.

The Cuban, 26, is unbeaten at 10-0 (9 KOs).

Meanwhile, US fighter Kalajdzic, 33, has a pro record of 29-2 (21 KOs).

In the eyes of many in the boxing world, Crawford is the pound-for-pound No 1 fighter in men’s boxing.

Madrimov’s last fight took place in March, on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s knockout of Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.

The Uzbek stopped the previously unbeaten Magomed Kurbanov in the fifth round to win the vacant WBA super-welterweight title.

Crawford last fought 12 months ago – almost to the day – facing Errol Spence Jr in a fight that was five years in the making.

Both Americans entered that bout as welterweight champions and with unbeaten records. Many fans and pundits saw the fight as a 50-50 contest.

But “Bud” dismantled Spence, dropping his fellow southpaw once in round two, twice in round seven, and finishing him in the ninth.

With that, Crawford added the unified titles to his WBO belt, becoming undisputed in a second weight class – the first man to achieve that feat, before Naoya Inoue followed suit later in the year.
