Terrifier 4 Should Look Nightmarish Based On Brief Tease Of New Location

Terrifer 4 should be the scariest movie in the horror series yet, based on the tease of a new location in Terrifier 3. The Terrifier franchise has gotten more intense and ambitious with each new entry. The recently released Terrifier 3 adopted a Christmas setting and saw the franchise’s serial killer villain, Art the Clown, dress up as Santa Claus to terrorize his victims. Upon the film’s release, there were even reports that several moviegoers threw up due to Terrifier 3’s gore.

Based on the level of horror on display in Terrifier 3, there’s no reason to deny that writer/director Damien Leone will heighten the stakes even more in the fourth entry of the Terrifier series, and the third film already showed how he can do that. Terrifier 3’s ending featured a portal to Hell opening up in the floor of the living room. The portal, and more specifically, what fell into the portal, perfectly set the stage for Terrifier 4 to be set in Hell.

During the climax of Terrifier 3, Art the Clown and Victoria Heyes, who was the final girl in the first Terrifier movie but has since been possessed by a demon, break into Sienna Shaw’s aunt and uncle’s house while she is asleep. Upon waking up, she discovers that the duo of Art and Vicky have brutally murdered her uncle and tied her aunt to a chair in the living room. Art and Vicky murder Sienna’s aunt in front of her and then threaten to also hurt her younger cousin, Gabbie, unless Sienna allows the demon to also corrupt her own body.

Gabbie manages to hand Sienna the magical sword which she used to kill Art the Clown in Terrifier 2. Using the sword once more, Sienna decapitates Vicky. Vicky’s blood then runs across the living room floor, melts it, and creates a portal to Hell. While Sienna is fighting Art throughout the house, Gabbie ends up falling into the portal. After finally impaling Art with the sword, Sienna uses it to try to pull Gabbie up. However, she fails, and both Gabbie and the sword fall into Hell.

Since Gabbie was such a prominent character in Terrifier 3, and since the sword has been such an important object in the last two movies in the series, all signs seem to suggest that Sienna will enter Hell in Terrifier 4. While no concrete details about Terrifier 4 have been revealed yet, connecting the series to Hell and its demons seems to be Leone’s plan. Earlier in Terrifier 3, Sienna and her brother Jonathan discuss how Art the Clown, Vicky, and the Little Pale Girl from Terrifier 2 are no longer human, and are all corrupted by demons.

Furthermore, while Terrifier 3 does not include a post-credits scene, the ending does show a woman reading The 9th Circle. The 9th Circle is a reference to Dante’s Inferno, which highlights the different layers of Hell. According to Dante’s Inferno, nine “circles” make up Hell, and the ninth circle is where Satan resides. Therefore, it is possible that in Terrifier 4, Sienna will have to fight through Hell in search of Gabbie and the sword.

Hell Will Make The Terrifier Movies Scarier Than Ever

While all three Terrifier movies have been scary, they have all mostly taken place in familiar settings. Audiences are used to watching slasher movies that take place in suburban neighborhoods or on college dorms. While Damien Leone added more visual flare to Terrifier 3 by setting it during Christmas, showcasing the horrors of Hell throughout Terrifier 4 would keep viewers on the edge of their seats more than ever before.

Art the Clown has already become an iconic horror movie villain, and Vicky and the Little Pale Girl have also proven themselves to be menacing forces. Therefore, the villains in the Terrifier franchise will only become scarier if Sienna is forced to face them in Hell. The story of the Terrifier series is already shrouded in so much mystery, which has successfully intrigued audiences thus far, so setting Terrifier 4 in Hell would make the franchise even more interesting and bold.
