Betelgeuse is back. Thirty-six years after being sent back to the Afterlife, the ghost with the most returns with a new mission to help mortals in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
Arising in theaters on Sept. 6, Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel to his 1998 film sees Beetlejuice (original star Michael Keaton) being summoned once again by Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder), who hopes to protect her daughter Astrid (Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega) in the Neitherworld. (Like mother, like daughter: Astrid has accidentally opened the portal for the recently deceased.) Rounding out the cast is Monica Bellucci, who plays Beetlejuice’s nemesis, the evil spirit Delores; Justin Theroux; and Arthur Conti.
