January got off to a rough start on a lot of fronts. The network shows being on what feels like an incredibly long hiatus is not helping things. Give us back our silly, trashy, emotional support TV shows! Good thing I hoard potentially interesting links and videos for occasions such as these.
It turns out we’re not the only ones who think Doctor Odyssey owes us a Phillipa Soo song and dance episode. At a special show screening in L.A., Joshua Jackson argued why Ryan Murphy should write an episode for Phillipa to show off her Broadway skills.
“It is insane to have Phillipa Soo on a television show, on any television show — if it was ‘The Sopranos,’ I don’t care, but on our show, where you can really do whatever you want every week — and have her not have sung a song or danced a dance,” Jackson continued. “I don’t understand what we’re doing!”
Me neither! Get on that, Ryan.
Soo wasn’t able to attend the event, and I’m very proud of Jackson, Sean Teale, and Don Johnson for taking the opportunity to give Phillipa her flowers. It’s also nice to know that, according to Teal, Josh Jackson and Don Johnson are just as awesome as we want them to be. And yes, I understand there’s a significant risk in that statement not aging well. But I’m saying it anyway.
For those of you who are more into the Art Deco sets of Doctor Odyssey, Architectural Digest has got you covered. The magazine conducted a set tour hosted by Jackson and Production Designer Jamie Walker McCall that goes in-depth into the details of the fantasy cruise ship, The Odyssey. It’s an impressive set by any standard, but the working pool really takes it over the top.
