As the market ramps up ahead of deadline day next week, we are starting to see more done deals — particularly in the loan market.
January is always a big one for loans, often to allow young players or those who have fallen out of favour to get some minutes in the remainder of the season.
As well as the news of Louie Barry joining Hull from Villa on loan, we had a batch of other loans completed yesterday.
Brighton’s Under-21s forward Kamari Doyle switched loans from Exeter City to League One rivals Crawley Town for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile Nottingham Forest forward Esapa Osong joined League One Cambridge on loan until the end of the campaign.
And in a more high profile one, former Everton and Norwich City forward Kieran Dowell joined Birmingham City from Rangers.
Stay tuned for plenty more where that came from.
