UFC 303 features 13 fights, though only one is for a title belt. Alex Pereira will fight Jiri Prochazka in the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. This is a rematch of their title fight at UFC 295 in November, with Pereira claiming the vacant championship with a second-round TKO. The Brazilian is the betting favorite to maintain his belt seven months later.

Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes headline the undercard matchups at UFC 303. Originally scheduled as a featherweight matchup, the fight was changed to the lightweight class this week at Ortega’s request. However, the Los Angeles native is still a betting underdog against Lopes.

While most fights have clear favorites, there are a few toss-ups. For example, the odds on Mayra Bueno Silva (-115) and Macy Chiasson (-105) are almost even. This bantamweight brawl is one of two showdowns between female fighters.

Favorite UFC 303 Picks

The long-awaited rematch between Pereira and Prochazka is the focus for many UFC fans. However, it’s not the only fight worth targeting with your betting dollars. Here are three of my favorite picks for UFC 303 in Las Vegas:

Jiri Prochazka (+124) Over Alex Pereira

Revenge is the theme of UFC 303. After losing to Pereira last November, I’m taking Prochazka to win his third go-around for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.

Prochazka’s loss to Pereira came after a long layoff and shoulder injury. It was his first loss since 2015, snapping a 13-fight win streak that culminated in the light heavyweight belt at UFC 275. The Czech returned to form at UFC 300 with a TKO of Aleksandar Rakic in the second round, earning the “Performance of the Night” distinction.

The first matchup between these two fights was a coin flip, yet Pereira is a considerable favorite tonight. Prochazka is healthier than he was in November, so I’m exploiting the value and taking the more experienced fighter with the longer reach for the upset.

Diego Lopes (-142) Over Brian Ortega

The co-main event was moved to the lightweight division due to Ortega’s weight-cutting issues. That shouldn’t be an issue for Lopes, who has a three-inch advantage in height and reach on his opponent. The Mexican has won three straight fights in the first round, showcasing explosive moves from the opening bell. Meanwhile, Ortega has dropped three of his last five fights and has struggled with injuries.

Ortega is a more experienced UFC fighter, but Lopes has the style and current form to win this fight as the betting favorite.

Michael Page (+130) Over Ian Machado Garry

We’re rounding out this list of UFC 303 picks with another upset. This time, we’re taking Garry to suffer his first professional loss at the hands of Page. Garry has yet to perform well against elite counter-strikers, almost suffering knockouts despite entering fights as a significant favorite. Page also looked great in his last fight, defeating Kevin Holland in a unanimous decision at UFC 299 in March.

Many bettors are looking at Garry’s perfect record and Page’s age (37) and siding with the favorite. But the stylistic differences work in Page’s favor and could lead him to a surprising win in this welterweight showdown.
