Later today, three victims are expected to read out victim impact statements to the court.
They include Carol Clay’s sister, sister, daughter and best friend.
Crown prosecutor Daniel Porceddu told the court on Thursday morning that each statement would convey “the gravity of the loss of Mrs Clay”.
He told the court that on June 25, 2024, Greg Lynn was found guilty of the murder of Carol Clay and acquitted of the murder of Russell Hill.
The maximum penalty for murder is life imprisonment.
On the evening of March 20, 2020, at Bucks Camp in the remote wilderness area of the Wonnangatta Valley, the offender camped alongside Carol Clay and Russell Hill. This was the last time Mr Hill and Mrs Clay were seen alive.
