Seeing the Los Angeles Lakers select Bronny James and set up a scenario where he’s teaming with dad LeBron in the NBA was “surreal” for younger brother Bryce.

In UNINTERRUPTED’s Top Class Hoops, Bryce reflected on Bronny’s journey over the last few years as he saw his freshman season at USC impacted by health issues and still got picked in the 2024 NBA draft.

The latter was the culmination of a years-long quest for LeBron to team up with his son in the NBA.

Once the draft rolled around, the wide consensus was that Los Angeles would take Bronny to entice LeBron to stick around. He ultimately signed a two-year deal that includes a player option. For at least one season, father and son will share a locker room.

Bryce has no misconceptions about whether he’ll have the same opportunity. In an Instagram Live session in June, he pointed to how old LeBron will be when he becomes eligible for the NBA draft:

Lakers All Day Everyday @LADEig

I asked Bryce James if he thinks LeBron would wait for him to get drafted before retiring. His response:

”That’s OD… he’s gonna be 42 bro.”

😂😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/wRVfqqlXQO

Simply having Bronny stay in Southern California to start his pro career is clearly a big deal for the James family.
