Dallas Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons is already one of the best defensive players in the NFL, and now he has the unique distinction of being Tom Brady’s first-ever LFG Player of the Game.
Brady, who made his broadcasting debut on Fox during the Cowboys’ 33-17 win over the Cleveland Browns, awarded Parsons with the honor after he racked up four tackles, a sack and a tackle for loss in the victory.
“It’s fun being up here and not having you chase me around,” Brady told Parsons. “To see you from this perspective, man, you played a great game today. … You get so many double-teams out there, but you still find a way to make an impact. Way to go.”
Parsons expressed gratitude for the 47-year-old’s kind words and added that he’s been following advice that Brady gave him over the offseason.
The three-time Pro Bowler will be eligible for a contract extension after the 2024 campaign, so it can be expected that he will be motivated to have another dominant season. The LFG Player of the Game award is a strong way to start the year.
Parsons will look to build off his success in the season opener when the Cowboys host the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.
