Tim Walz stumbled out of the gate on his first question, confusing Israel and Iran.
“Iran — er — Israel’s ability to defend itself is absolutely fundamental,” Walz said, amid a sea of “uhs.”
He also said “the expansion of Israel and its proxies is an absolute fundamental necessity for the Untied States” — not being clear who Israel’s proxies are.
