SHOCKING footage shows a reckless driver crash into a ditch after leading cops on a high speed chase – for not wearing a seat belt.
Bobby Parr, 33, was spotted by officers driving a white Land Rover Discovery illegally at midday on May 15 this year.
Dashcam footage shows Parr speed away from the police patrol car in Balderton, Nottinghamshire.
Parr then hit speeds of 70mph in a 30mph zone as he weaved in and out of traffic.
The yob driver also ran red lights and mounted a pavement to get past slow moving traffic, narrowly missing several cars.
Footage shows him hurtling along Lowfield Lane at high speed before lost control on a bend, in Lowfield Lane, and veered into a ditch.
PC Haddon Smith leapt out of the patrol car and pointed a Taser at Parr who was bundled to the ground and arrested.
Parr, of Newark, Nottinghamshire, admitted dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance.
He was jailed for 13 months at Nottingham Crown Court and banned from driving for five years.
PC Smith said: “Parr showed no regard whatsoever for the safety of other road users or pedestrians before he lost control of the Land Rover on a sharp bend and crashed into a ditch due to his dangerous driving.
“It’s extremely fortunate no-one was hurt.
“As a force we will never tolerate this kind of reckless behaviour and we will always do everything we can to keep people safe and bring offenders like Parr to justice, ensuring they face the consequences for their actions.”
