MANILA, Philippines — The China Coast Guard intercepted the medical evacuation of navy personnel stationed in Ayungin (Second Thomas) Shoal, according to a Philippine Navy official.

Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad, navy spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, said on Tuesday that the evacuation was disrupted when a 102-meter-long CCG ship, along with at least six maritime militia vessels, reportedly intercepted two Philippine Coast Guard ships conducting the operation.
