‘Wheel of Time’ Casts Olivia Williams as Queen of Andor

The Wheel of Time continues to build out the cast for its upcoming third season.

The fantasy drama, which is set to premiere March 13 on Prime Video, has cast Olivia Williams, Luke Fetherston, Callum Kerr and Nuno Lopes as members of the royal family of Andor, the largest and most influential country in author Robert Jordan’s fictional world. News of their casting follows that of Shohreh Aghdashloo as Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan, a powerful member of the Aes Sedai.

Williams (Dune: Prophecy, The Crown) will play Morgase Trakand, the queen of Andor, who ascended to the throne after a brutal war pitting her forces against several rivals. “She has sworn ever since to shield her daughter and heir, Elayne, from ever having to endure what she did — and do what she did,” the character description reads. “But far from being a tyrant, Morgase has become one of the best queens Andor has ever known.”

Fetherston (Big Mood) and Kerr (Monarch) will play Lord Galad and Lord Gawyn, the queen’s sons and princes of Andor. Galad is a skilled fighter and protective of his younger sister Elayne (Ceara Coveney, who first appeared in season two). Gawyn, the first-born child, is not the heir to the throne as Andor is a matriarchy.

Lopes (The New Look) plays Lord Gaebril, Queen Morgase’s consort who is both her lover and her adviser on political and military matters.

The four actors join a cast that includes Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, Zoë Robins, Madeleine Madden, Marcus Rutherford, Dónal Finn, Ceara Coveney, Kate Fleetwood, Natasha O’Keefe, Ayoola Smart and Kae Alexander.

Williams is repped by Independent Talent Group and CAA; Fetherston, by Independent Talent Group; Kerr, by Lindsay Kutner at Revolution Talent and David Rosario at Roar; and Lopes, by Subtitle Talent Agency, Authentic Talent and AGM.
