Several major characters died in Squid Game Season 2, including Young Mi, Player 196, and Jeong Bae.
The Salesman (Episode 1)
The Salesman offers Gi-hun to play Russian Roulette with him, appearing to have the determination to win the game. However, the game doesn’t end in his favor when Gi-hun’s Season 1 winning luck emerges, making him survive all turns. In the last turn, the Salesman instead of backing off from the game, decides to take his own life.
Young-mi (Episode 6)
Amidst the game, Young-mi bumps into someone and falls on the floor. Later, Hyun Ju, who leads the group, realizes she is no longer with them and decides to save her. However, Player 333, Lee Myeong Gi shuts the door immediately, nulling the chances of rescuing her. In the end, Young-mi gets shot by the guards.
Player 196 (Episode 3)
Player 196 is eliminated in the Red Light, Green Light game. An experienced Gi-hun requests everyone to be still during the game and avoid making movements. However, Player 196 doesn’t take his advice and moves when a bee sits on her neck. She also didn’t shut her mouth and joked about the bee, leading to a deadly consequence. The doll discovers her movements and kills her.
Player 380 / Se Mi (Episode 7)
Nam Gyu, who Se Mi initially collaborated with alongside other members, held cruel intentions against her. When she votes in favor of ending the games, he gets furious. Ultimately, he plans to kill her when the lights go off. Despite Min Su’s attempts to save Player 380 by throwing a glass bottle, Nam Gyu manages to kill her.
Jeong Bae (Episode 7)
Initially, Front Man (Player 001) displays his helpful nature towards Gi-hun and his ally Jeong Bae. However, after his true identity is revealed, he ultimately takes Gi-hun’s allies out. With no bullets to protect themselves, the duo surrenders. However, Front Man takes away Jeong Bae’s life, raising the stakes for Gi-hun and making him realize the consequences of going against the games and its bosses.
