Woman’s Unconventional Way Of Packing Boyfriend’s Lunch Causes Hysterics

A video of a woman’s unique “DIY lunch” offering for her boyfriend has sparked laughter among users on Instagram.

The clip was posted by @itsmejuliette and has garnered 10 million views since it was posted on July 11. A caption shared with the post says “packing my boyfriend’s lunch in a binder.”

The footage shows a person flipping through a binder labeled “lunch,” which contains plastic sleeves each filled with different bits of food, including the ingredients to form a sandwich.

The sleeves contain foods such as slices of sandwich meat, cheese and bread, as well as lettuce and tomatoes. Some sleeves contained slices of fruit and portions of snacks, like handfuls of cookies, peanuts and gummy bears. Overplayed over the footage is an audio clip from reality TV show The Kardashians, with Kris Jenner saying “look at this,” before Faye Resnick replies “ooh perfect.”

“I know, it’s my dream,” Jenner says as the video ends.

The viral post comes as the global lunch box market size was valued to be $11.46 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach $20.72 billion by 2032, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.8 percent from 2024 to 2032, according to a report by market research firm Dataintelo.

The market growth is fueled by a rise in health consciousness and an increasing number of consumers preferring home-cooked meals to adopt a healthier lifestyle and have more control over their nutritional intake, the report said.

The report also found that advancements in food technology are inspiring companies to innovate lunch boxes with unique features, such as microwave compatibility and electric heating, and these developments are projected to drive the market in the years ahead.

‘Lowkey Smart’

Users on Instagram were delighted by the unique lunch packaging in the viral post.

“THIS IS LOWKEY SMART,” said califoodventure.

User jacksoncosens noted: “No need to clean every time. Just buy new pages. Such a fantastic idea rather than keeping the wet ingredients separate.”

“Not me actually thinking this is great so the bread doesn’t get soggy lololol,” said thymeandtenderness.

Others were not as convinced, such as drifte46_ who said “I’d be pissed if I had a DIY Lunch.”

User cobra.nicole said: “This was such a great idea! The only issue is when I went to pick it up, everything fell out. I guess imma eat floor sandwich tonight.”

“The way everything falls out when you turn the page,” noted wiithlove and heavensgat3s agreed, saying “The Trail mix falling out is insane.”

“Everything falling out makes this so much funnier,” said jordan_cross105.
