WWE announced that the 2025 Royal Rumble will be preceded by another marquee show that will surely set the stage for the fan-favorite event.
On Wednesday, the company revealed that it will hold its next Saturday Night’s Main Event primetime special at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on Jan. 25, one week before the Royal Rumble on Feb. 1. Saturday Night’s Main Event will be broadcast live on NBC and simulcast on Peacock.
This will mark the second primetime special as part of WWE’s new five-year domestic media rights partnership with NBCUniversal. Saturday Night’s Main Event will make its official return on Dec. 14 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, N.Y., the site of the first-ever iteration of the special. The event previously aired on NBC on special occasions from 1985 to 1992.
WWE has stacked the first Saturday Night’s Main Event with exciting matches such as WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther vs. Finn Balor.
It can be expected that the second Saturday Night’s Main Event will feature important matches that coincide with the lead-up to the Royal Rumble.
