Friday at 11 a.m., the San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum presents a free film screening of the animated short Afro Algorithms at the Carver Community Cultural Center’s Jo Long Auditorium for middle and high schoolers. Filmmaker Anatola Araba will be in attendance.
Native American Heritage Month means a Yanaguana weekend in San Antonio. The Briscoe Western Art Museum holds its annual Yanaguana Indian Arts Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Then head over to Mission Marquee Plaza for Yanaguana Fest on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., a free and sober event presented by American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions.
Also on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., Vista Brewing celebrates its first anniversary at its Lamar Street location with live music and beers brewed especially for the occasion.
For late-night fun, RuPaul’s Drag Race fan favorite Jessica Wild performs at Ay Que Chula on Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight. Tickets start at $15.
This Sunday at 7 p.m., Musical Bridges Around the World welcomes the comedic musical team Duo Baldo and Italian opera diva Maria Luigia Borsi to the San Fernando Cathedral as part of its free concert series. Admission is free but tickets are required for entry.
Then on Tuesday at 7 p.m., Texas Public Radio’s Worth Repeating storytelling series returns with a lineup of speakers responding to the theme “Altered.” We’re told the $10 tickets go fast!
